Service Area & Travel

Clear travel pricing before the appointment.

Review the included service area, the mileage calculation, and the terms that may apply before booking.

Travel Rates

Simple pricing based on one-way distance.

The customer-facing calculation uses the one-way driving distance from ZIP code 78249. The rate already accounts for the return drive, so there is no second mileage charge on the way back.

0–25 one-way miles Included

No standard travel fee is added within the included service area.

More than 100 one-way miles Custom quote

Long-distance and destination assignments are priced around the full project scope.

No separate return charge. The $2 rate is applied to the additional one-way miles because it is already designed to account for round-trip travel.

How It Is Calculated

The address determines the fee before confirmation.

Travel is based on the standard practical driving route from ZIP code 78249 to the property address. The distance is rounded to the nearest whole mile for the booking calculation.

1
Enter the property address

The booking system uses the submitted property location to determine the one-way driving distance.

2
Subtract the included 25 miles

Only the portion of the one-way trip beyond the included service area is billable.

3
Multiply the remaining miles by $2

The resulting travel fee is added to the order and shown with the booking summary.

Policy Details

What the standard travel fee covers.

These terms keep travel predictable while protecting both the client and SkyHaus when a project involves additional locations, access costs, or a return visit.

One fee per property visit

One standard travel fee covers services completed at the same property during the same visit. A separately scheduled twilight session, return appointment, additional filming day, or other separate visit may require another travel charge.

Address changes and multiple locations

Travel pricing is based on the address submitted during booking. Address changes, additional properties, off-site amenities, community features, or secondary filming locations may change the travel charge and availability.

Parking, tolls, permits, and required access costs

Paid parking, tolls, ferry charges, permits, reservation fees, required entry fees, and other mandatory property or venue access costs are not included in the mileage fee. If complimentary, validated, prepaid, or client-provided access is available, no additional charge applies. Otherwise, required costs are billed at their actual amount.

Return visits

A return visit caused by missing access information, an unavailable or unprepared property, client-requested changes, added work, or a requested reshoot may be treated as a new visit. No additional travel charge applies when a return visit is required solely because of a SkyHaus error.

Drone and site conditions

Travel approval does not guarantee that aerial work can be completed. Drone operations remain subject to weather, visibility, airspace authorization, temporary flight restrictions, property access, site conditions, and safe and lawful operating requirements.

Booking details and taxes

Known travel charges are shown before confirmation and included in the booking summary. Expenses that cannot reasonably be determined in advance may be added at actual cost. Applicable sales tax is added when required.

Long-Distance Projects

More than 100 miles is quoted around the assignment.

There is no fixed maximum travel distance. A worthwhile residential, commercial, hospitality, construction, ranch, or multi-day project may be considered when the scope, schedule, and budget support the travel required.

Custom pricing may include

Long-distance work is not priced by mileage alone. The quote considers the full block of time and the actual resources needed to complete the assignment safely and professionally.

  • Round-trip travel time
  • Mileage or transportation
  • Package and add-on scope
  • Time required on location
  • A separate travel day
  • Lodging
  • Airfare and baggage
  • Rental or ground transportation
  • Meals for overnight or multi-day work
  • Parking, tolls, permits, and access costs

A retainer or advance payment of approved travel expenses may be required before reservations are purchased or the appointment is finalized.

Approved nonrefundable lodging, airfare, transportation, permits, reservations, or other travel purchases remain the client’s responsibility if the project is canceled or rescheduled. SkyHaus will not purchase substantial destination arrangements without prior client approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common travel questions.

How is the travel distance calculated?
Travel is based on the standard one-way driving route from ZIP code 78249 to the property address entered during booking. The distance is rounded to the nearest whole mile for the booking calculation.
Do I pay separately for the drive back?
No. The public calculation uses one-way distance, and the $2 rate for additional miles already accounts for round-trip travel.
What happens if the property is only one mile outside the included area?
A property 26 one-way miles from ZIP 78249 is one mile beyond the included area, so the standard travel fee is $2. The fee increases proportionally rather than jumping to a large flat charge.
Are parking, tolls, permits, or required access costs included?
No. Required paid parking, tolls, ferry charges, permits, reservation fees, entry fees, and other mandatory property or venue access costs are separate and billed at their actual amount. No additional charge applies when the client provides complimentary, validated, prepaid, or otherwise included access.
When will I see the travel fee?
The standard mileage-based travel fee is calculated from the property address and shown before the appointment is confirmed. A cost that cannot reasonably be known in advance, such as unexpected paid parking or a required on-site access fee, may be added afterward at its actual amount.
Can one travel fee cover multiple properties or a separate return visit?
One standard travel fee covers services completed at one property during the same visit. Additional properties, separate locations, separately scheduled services, client-requested return visits, or address changes may require a revised or additional travel charge.
What happens when the property is more than 100 miles away?
The assignment requires a custom quote. Pricing may consider travel time, transportation, project scope, lodging, meals for qualifying overnight work, permits, parking, and other resources required to complete the project safely and professionally.
